Meet Dr. Corio
Laura E. Corio, M.D., is a board-certified ob/gyn whose thriving New York City practice attracts women from across the country because of her unique blend of no-nonsense medical advice, extensive knowledge of alternative approaches, and close collaboration with patients. She received her bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University and her medical degree from New Jersey Medical School, the College of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed her Ob/gyn residency at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the National Board of Medical Examiners. As a clinical assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology, Corio has privileges at Mount Sinai Hospital and New York University Hospital in New York City, widely considered two of the finest hospitals for women in the country.
Dr. Corio is also a best selling author. Her first book, The Change Before The Change, spent several weeks on the New York Times Best Seller List and shot to number one on Amazon’s list of best selling health books. It was the first popular title to define the idea of perimenopause – the decade before menopause -- and describe all that goes with it in physical, hormonal and emotional terms.
Corio’s energetic and engaging style not only makes her popular with her patients but with the media as well. She’s a familiar face on national TV thanks to her regular appearances on The Today Show, CBS Early Morning Show, Eyewitness News and others plus she’s frequently quoted in national publications like Self, Marie Claire and O, as well as professional medical publications. She regularly dispenses expert advice for top websites like Web MD and iVillage and in speaking engagements all over the country.

My name is Cheryl Fasana and I’ve been Dr. Corio’s front desk coordinator for 15 years. The front desk is like my stage and I love it because I get to see all of the patients as they walk through the door. I have a special relationship with all of our clients. I really try to help every one of them have a great experience. I especially love the pregnant patients because I have two grown daughters. I know everything expectant moms are going through – and everything they will go through! When you come in, talk to me about Hollywood gossip. It’s light and easy and I love to dish. | |

My name is Elsie Gonzalez. During my more than 15 years as Dr. Corio’s medical assistant, I’m most famous for being able to draw blood painlessly. Seriously, many of our pregnant patients want me to go with them to the hospital when they go into labor just to administer the needles! That’s Ok with me. It makes me happy to know I’ve help patients feel comfortable and relaxed. | |

You can make an appointment by calling us at 646-422-0730 during our normal office hours. Unfortunately we cannot take email requests for appointments at this time.
Please call the office for all emergencies that occur during doctor’s or office hours. For after hour emergencies, please call the office number; the service will pick up and beep the doctor who will return the call as soon as she receives the message.

Billing Information
While you are in our care at ob/gyn, we want to provide you with the highest quality of care available. We do not participate with any insurance companies, however we will provide patients with paid hcfa and regular receipts to submit for reimbursement. Surgery and obstetrical patients, we will work with your insurance, and Business Office Manger Mayra Cardi will be able to answer any questions regarding fee schedules, insurance issues, payment options, etc. Please feel free to contact Mayra at coriostaff@yahoo.com or call her at 646 422-0730.
